This past Friday was a fun and exciting day at the Community Foundation. We held a reception for winners of the 2009 Whiteside Scholarship. It was a fun gathering of the scholarship committee, representatives of the Whiteside Trust and Community Foundation, twenty five of the brightest young minds from Duluth, and a whole bunch of parents - most of whom were just bursting with pride.
Each of the students introduced themselves and told about their plans for college. It was so exciting to hear their plans and goals. And it is easy to have confidence in the planet, knowing that these are the people who will be taking up the reins in the next generation.
After all the introductions were finished, all the students gathered for a group photo. Here is that photo with the names of the 2009 Whiteside Scholarship listed below.
