Duluth Superior Area ![]() Grants & ScholarshipsWednesday, May 20, 2009 ![]() Of course, part of that work is scholarship related. As the scholarship season is winding down, it is a good time to reflect on the work we have done. In 2008, the Community Foundation helped out more than 260 students with just over 508 thousand dollars in scholarship aid. But today's Community Celebration is focusing more on the efforts the Community Foundation is making to keep a vibrant population of youth active and contributing in the community. The meeting will highlight two such activities. The first is the Young Leaders Fund. This group is all about developing leadership among the area's young adults. The second initiative is the DuSu. TheDuSu.com is a new website being developed by area young adults and will feature all things Duluth Superior (thus the name). It is scheduled to launch this fall and will be a great addition to the local social scene for those in the 'young adult' demographic. Watch for more information in the coming months! Scholarships are an important part of the Community Foundation's work but there is so much more going on. If you are interested in lending a hand to either of these great activities, please contact me, the DSACF Scholarship Officer.
